2016_Sept 23: Powering THROUGH!!

Thursday and Friday were quite productive:
  • Termite Prevention Applied
  • Electric install completed
  • Slab/retaining wall dug and prepped
Thursday and Friday, Scott with Gulfstream was on site measuring out and setting in footers in prep for the concrete pour of the base for the deck.  (The type of slab being installed around the pool is called a Monolithic foundation. Due to the slope of our yard, a retaining wall is also required, which means the 12" deep trench dug along the front edge of our existing porch slab slopes deeper to a total depth of 24" across the back of the pool decking to reach virgin dirt.)  From there, Scott laid in several lines of reinforcing steel bars in the trenches with vertical rebar added across the back for the retaining wall.

Scott labored Thursday and Friday in the brutal heat to get the footers, trench and steel reinforcements in place for Monday's inspection.  Beautiful work, Scott!!!
On Friday, Brian and his team with Hawkins Electric also arrived and routed copper ground wires around the pool and installed electric wiring underground through special rated piping to the pool/spa lights.

Then they hooked up the control box to the house and the rest of the pool equipment.  Brian and his amazing crew OWNED IT!

WE'VE GOT POWER!!!

WOW...now that's a LOT of wires!!  I'm so glad we went with remote control!

Hillsborough County is now showing 4 inspections pending for this Monday:
          1) Termite
          2) Pool Plumbing Final
          3) Pool Enclosure Footing
          4) Pool Electric Bond

WOO-HOO!!!
Gulfstream is ROCKIN' the BUILD!!!
