2016_Oct 5: Taking it to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!

While each step of this build to date has brought real definition and color to my mental wireframe image of the finished project (our dream backyard Oasis!), nothing prepared me for the breathtaking clarity of this moment.

So, yesterday a mound arrived in our driveway of what looked like sand. Little did we know that by the end of today, we'd see ALL the dirt between the pool and the monolithic footer and old slab (that had been our previous porch)....REPLACED and TRANSFORMED in to the most beautiful Travertine deck!

Andre and his AMAZING crew started midday Tuesday and worked past 6pm power-leveling the dirt area between the  pool and the footer/slab.

They then took that 'sand' and blended it in with a type of cement for a mixture they would spread out and tamp down with the same power-leveler.

 And then..(be-still my heart!)..the installation of the Travertine pavers (imported from Turkey!)!

You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys their specialty. Andre and his superb crew's attention to detail...even down to precision cutting to meet the organic curves/design of our pool...is evident in their flawless craftsmanship!

They not only poured the mini-slabs for the doors of our screened enclosure...they even took the time to extend these with the Travertine pavers! 

MEGA-KUDOS to Gulfstream and Ted Sharrone for being consistently selective in choosing only the BEST talent in their pool builds!

Cabana girl has been doing a "happy dance" all evening...this breathtaking view brought a whole new level of REAL to this adventure!
