Oh, but wait!! First things first...you know all those lovely Florida storms we've been trying to dodge since the first week of this build? Well, rainwater, leaves, dirt and other icky items have accumulated since the shot-crete was completed in both the deep end and the bottom of the spa.
As usual...Gulfsteam was ALL OVER IT! Their BEST CLEANING/PREP CREW arrived on site Thursday and took charge of things - removing all that "ick" and giving the entire interior a thorough scrub down! BOOM!!

On my way home from work, I stopped for a lovely chat with Lori and a few of the Gulfstream staff while dropping off our final draw in payment of the pool build.
What you are seeing is the application of the PebbleSheen® (a finer pebble finish (bits of pebble) in Blue Granite with the PebbleTec® enhancement called, "Shimmering Sea" a blend of abalone and pearl bits that will give the interior finish that extra sparkle!
(Despite his protests, Cabana Girl must give credit to her DH (hmmm...Cabana Boy??) for this video montage documenting the PebbleTec crew's proprietary application...such a remarkable process to see! Thanks Sweetie!!)
Oh my! We do love this beautiful finish so much and it's not 'finished', yet!

Bright and early...we're talking before 8am! The PebbleTec® crew arrived and quietly set up to start the acid washing procedure of the interior finish.
This process involved muriatic acid and Dawn liquid dish detergent. The result revealed the beauty of the finish even more. They also installed the pool/spa lights and drains and cleaned up any extraneous bits of finish that had strayed in the application process.
The PebbleTec® crew worked extremely hard both days. You can clearly see it's a precision and proprietary application process. This is yet another situation where Gulfstream's long standing working relationship with a superior vendor, in this case PebbleTec®, and demand for quality workmanship is a WIN-WIN for the consumer! WOO-HOO!!!
STAY TUNED...the pool is filling up with water right now!
